The Pen a Painting Project is a series of letters written to completed paintings. The exercise of writing these letters provides a method of organizing the many musings, insights, connections and questions that arise as I work. I’ve found the process incredibly helpful in deciphering content “the work is about” from mere curiosities that arise throughout the many hours (too many hours?) of right hemisphere brain activation.
